"Oh, I'm sorry, dear. But I heard a strange noise so I came to see. Someone in a motorcycle sent you home? Who was that?"

"Nothing, Mom," I said and walked past her but she followed me.

"Nothing? If he was riding a car, I would think it's Jaxon, but he's in a big sleek bike, so I figured that it must be another guy. Who? You got a new boyfriend?"

I stopped at the mention of the word 'boyfriend'. Right. Carter is my boyfriend now and we didn't talk about hiding our relationship, so I guess it's all right to tell Mom?

"Yes, Mom, I got a new boyfriend. And he's a thousand times better than my ex."
