It's a secret

For a couple moments I could not believe what I was hearing. They slept together a month ago but Lev looked so surprised when she told him that she liked him. It could be a friends with benefits thing but I guess I am just disappointed that I didn’t notice the tension at all. If I knew maybe I could have helped somehow.

“Don’t you think he deserves to know? It’s his child too.” I say calmly and gently so she wouldn’t think of this as an attack on her. I am on her side of course. We girls have to stick up for each other but Lev is my friend too. This is his kid we’re talking about as well!

“It won’t be.”

I make a face of confusion.

“I’m getting an abortion.” My mouth drops open. I rub the back of my ear hesitantly.

“Kira.. how are you going to manage that? It’s not legal anymore.”

“Maybe I’ll go to Canada.” She mutters under her breath.

I let out a breath and give it some thought. “Listen, hear me out. I’m just saying this because I care about you. Aren’t you rushing things a little?
