"Do you understand now?" She tilted her head. "I am not as weak as you think I am."

There was a kind of look Kairos had never seen before on Irene's face. It was one filled with determination, also indescribably stubborn. He realized that perhaps, he had never understood her at all.

"Do you really want to know?" The usually cold countenance was painted in complex colors, representing his inner struggle. After he debated with himself for a while, he sighed and fell back to his chair.

Meanwhile, Irene waited, already making herself comfortable as she sipped on a drink she had brought. It was Reyes's handiwork. She couldn't wait to check whether she could taste it with her tongue again or not.

"Alright then, I will tell you. Remember that this is the decision you make yourself." Kairos said after a while. His body shifted, closing the windows and locking the door. For whatever reason she had chosen to hide the truth about her bloodline, it was still unacceptable to lie to the king.
