Brenda sat in the dimly lit hospital room, her eyes fixed on Damien’s still form lying in the bed. Who would want them dead? Brenda’s thoughts spiraled, her gaze shifting to the window overlooking the city skyline. The prime suspect that lingered in her mind was Alfred, a man who had relentlessly pursued her, vowing to win her back from Damien by any means necessary. He had even made chilling threats about getting rid of Damien. Though Brenda lacked concrete evidence, her intuition told her that it couldn’t be anyone but Alfred. Alfred seemed capable of such treachery.
