JAELA

I stood abruptly, putting distance between us startling him at my sudden movement. Pacing back in forth in front of him like a madwoman. Mumbling to myself. I didn’t know how close he was until his hands landed on my shoulders. shrugging off his touch, taking a step back. Rejection surged in my chest; his once happy face marred with hurt.

“Jaela, I’m the one who received a mark here, why are you acting as if the shoe was on the other foot.”

I stopped in my tracks and glared at him. “So much for it not being my fault right, clearly you do blame me” I spat at him.

“Omg Jae, nobody is blaming you, but you’re treating me like I’m the one who marked you. I don’t care that it happened, it was always going to be you anyway Jaela. Now stop it and come here” he beckoned me, opening his arms. His tone leaves no room for argument.

Like a child I wrapped my arms around myself tightly. Being scolded by Tristen was not on my list of things to do today. Am I overreacting though? we both kn
