Chapter 39

I sneaked into Liam's pack. The wind was cold. I'm glad I wore a coat on my way out. My steps faltered when I saw the ruined pack. Windows were shattered and the doors were torn apart even a few of the houses were burned down. The trees were also destroyed. I felt so bad. This place used to be so beautiful and lively. Liam should've protected his pack instead of escaping like a coward.

My heart churned when I noticed that some trees and flowers around the pack I had planted were cut off. I passed some houses and I heard crying. Memories of the past days hit me like a Deja Vu.

I had witnessed such joy happening in this pack. So many happy weddings, the birth of newborns, all the blessings. The sadness that clutched my soul left me baffled.

I was walking down the pathway with glassy eyes when I felt a daunting presence and within seconds the thunder grumbled wildly and my eyes fell on Liam. Our gaze collided and chills ran down my spine.
