An Intrusion

Dimitri and I were almost at my house by now and the silence between us was deafening. I could not stop thinking about how much has happened within twenty-four hours and the day has not even ended yet. I could not decide what I was going to tell my foster parents and how I was even going to break the news. It saddened me to think that I will be leaving them for a parent that was absent all my life when they have been more than generous to me, when they did not have to be.

It was not Adelina’s fault that she was absent my entire life, but I am just taking note that I am not their biological child, yet they chose to spend all of their time, effort, and money on me growing up. I did have a couple questions for my foster parents, and I could not wait because I anticipated their response so much.
