The room got dark for a second before the lights turned back on. The temperature dropped significantly, and the room seemed to have welcomed a dark presence. I could feel someone standing behind me, but I refused to turn around to see who my friend was. I may be a vampire, but I know my battles. I stood still, even being afraid to breathe. I could only be thankful at this moment that I am not actually alive and that I only breathe as to not freak people out.
My eyes drifted to where Edith stood, and I watched as she pulled something out of a bag. It looked like a snake. It wiggled in her hand and hissed at her. She places it on one of the metal tables and began to chant again but this time it was something different.
