Chapter 6

Dylan was eating when this delicious smell made him freeze. Since his existence, he has never smelt something so delicious that it got his heart beating fast. He turned slowly to the direction where the smell came from. 

He then saw a very weak looking female head bowed and talking to herself. He watched her vigorously. He was surprised at her beauty when she finally lifted up her head.

"Mine" his wolf growled.

That realisation got him frightened that he stood there static. 

Then he also heard his Beta say, "mine " too and that got him more confused.

Dylan never heard that an Alpha and his beta shared mate. 

The female looked at them wide eyed and fell to the ground.

Dylan looked at his Beta shocked. His Beta also looked at him. He then stood and went to the fallen female.

Dylan's wolf, Ryan, was really disturbed. He felt like grabbing his beta and flung him out but Dylan and Lucius have known each other for a long time. Dylan sat there watching what was going to happen. 

"Ma'am, are you alright?" He asked.

Dylan sat where he was looking at them. His heart stirred as Lucius touched her but then he was also her mate.

He frowned and couldn't help but to think of how he and his Beta could have the same mate.

"Stay away from me!" The female shouted.

Lucius wondered what was happening.

"I don't need any of you. I've suffered enough" she said.

" Mine........" Lucius called.

Ryan, Dylan's wolf, was getting so anxious. “Will you just sit there and let your Beta mark out mate?" He asked pacing impatiently. 

" I'm not yours, don't you call me yours!" Selena screamed.

Now tears were falling down her cheek.

She hated the moon goddess for what she had done to her. Giving her two new mates after one rejected her.

"There is a misunderstanding here ma'am" Lucius said calmly.

" No there isn't. I'm not yours and none of you is mine" she said.

She was moving away from him.

"Isn't your name mine?" Lucius asked.

"Huh" Selena gave a confused look.

He moved back and pointed to her clothes.

"My name is Mine" he read out.

Selena looked at her chest to see what he read out and it was true. 

"You think this is my name?" She asked.

Lucius nodded.

This brought relief to Selena's heart. She sighed to show it.

"What were you thinking before?" Lucius asked.

Selena gave a shameful look.

Selena wasn't the only one who was relieved. Dylan felt relief wash over him as he realised that the female wasn't his Beta's mate. He released the breath he didn't even know he was holding. 

"Nothing. Let's just forget about it" she waved her hands.

But then a thought struck Selena. If they just think that was her name, then where was that sweet smell coming from and why did it come.

Selena looked forward and there another was still looking at her. Her heart skipped at the sight of the man looking at her.

He was a large man with a beautiful face but then Selena didn't want to be tricked by a beautiful face. They are all brutal.

Selena quickly looked away.

"You should go pay homage" Lucius whispered to her.

" Why?" Selena frowned.

"I'm the lycan King's Beta. Who do you think that would be?" He asked.

Selena thought for a while. She knew a Beta was always where the Alpha is. She widened her eyes.

"The lycan King" she said in shock.

She couldn't have ever thought that the lycan King would visit her grandmother's little food stall. She ran towards him without hesitation and curtsied.

"Apologies, your Highness. I didn't know" she said with a shaky voice.

Now that they were closer, the smell was quite strong. Selena tried to tell herself that it was his perfume not a mating bond.

"I can't have another mate after a few hours of getting rejected," she thought in her heart.

" Stand" Dylan's thick voice came.

Surprisingly that voice soothes her heart and all the pain and sadness she felt washed away. This was surprising to her because since Selena knew herself, she had never felt any inner peace but seeing this man, the peace came. 

"I'm Selena your Highness" she said softly.

" Don't bother to tell him," Lucius whispered to her.

" Why?" She whispered back.

"He doesn't remember anyone's name, including mine," he said.

Selena was surprised. She hasn't heard of anything like that so she didn't want to believe him. She thought it would be pride that would make him ignore people. 

Lucius's phone rang.
