How unhinged is this guy? What'd you think 💭
I glare at the asshole who somehow has become an integral part in helping us find Jo. “D’you hear about Kingston?” Kenny says beside me and I ignore it in favor of watching Vongov stride past us to the admin office. “Mal? Mal? Malle?!” She nudges me and I turn sharply. “Don't call me that.” “You seemed lost.” “No I wasn't, you were saying something about… Kingston.” “Oh yeah, some steroids were found in his locker so he got kicked out of the football team.” “That’s sad...” “Yeah, and Claire hasn't posted anything on her socials. Come to think of it, she hasn't posted anything since she got suspended.” “Yeah so sad,” I mutter and a book whacks the back of my head. “Ow!” I scowl at her. “You'll end up drilling holes in his head if you don't stop.” She says, ignoring my glare. “He deserves more than a hole, Ken.” “Jeremy Vongov is the only other person in the underworld who can help us find Jo. We do need him.” She tries to reason with me but all I see is red. JoJo's blo
JEREMY'S POV I'm heading towards my car after the confrontation with Kai and his flavor of the week when former principal Dennis comes out of the exit. “A word Mr Vongov.” He says and slowly walks towards his office. Dennis has a slight limp in his walk from his days in the army. He's in his late eighties and a distinguished professor with years of academic recognition and exploits that are evident on the walls of his office. He never married after losing his high school sweetheart when they were eighteen. She’d gone to visit him in the army for the weekend and she returned with the flu. He didn't get the news until he was discharged from the army, eight months later. He blamed himself for her death and the scar never left him. He decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an English professor notwithstanding his skin color and he ended up falling in love with education. He retired some years ago and has been living out his life in a retirement home for the elderly. I follow hi
I run out of the park, wiping my wet eyes and almost getting hit by a delivery truck as I cross the road. I end up in a grocery store, looking for my favorite brand of chocolate when a boulder bumps into me and sends me sprawling on the floor, luckily no one is around to witness my embarrassment until the boulder speaks. “Blackwood?” I look up at the boulder— a male who's built like a boulder and gasp. “Justin Kingston?” He pulls me up with a tug and I fall into his chest. Curse my clumsy self. I push away from him with my hands on his chest which is rock solid. “Sorry.” “It's alright, I didn't feel a thing.” He winks at me and I smile. “Let me guess… Jock?” “Come on!” He throws his hands up. “Am I that obvious?” He teases me and bends to pick up my shopping cart. “Someone's in a mood.” He comments as he puts back the candies, popcorn, whipped cream, and sugary bits into my cart.” I flash him a wide smile, “It's that time of the month again.” He arches an eyebrow, “Oh
“I'm sure you know how it was when we last spoke.” “Yes, that's precisely why I'm here. I want to know more about his tragic past.” “Don't you have records for that?” “You're not getting the point, Tonia.” “No, you aren't getting my point, officer.” “Detective.” “I don't care. I do know as an aspiring attorney that the police or anyone affiliated with the force has no right to barge into the home of a civilian without a proper warrant.” “Are you sure this is the road you want to take, Ms. Blackwood?” I ignore his question, “I don't know how he became a person of interest but I can vouch with my life that Kila would never harm a female.” “I'll go now Ms. Blackwood but before you bring your life into this, remember how much Jeremy Vongov has changed from the sweet broken boy you met when you were ten.” “You put a bug on me?” “Finding the girl is more important than any lawsuits I'll get in the future.” “That gives you no right whatsoever!” “That girl! is just a year younger
JoJo's POV After the announcement, my new father—the Maniac— proceeded to hug me and I hugged him back. With the bradawl. I stabbed him in the hand and while he yelled for his boys to get me, I tried to find a lifeboat to get myself off the yacht but the attachment ropes had been cut and as I was about to say fuck it and jump in the water, someone dragged my hair from behind. “Hey pretty lady, I think you got lost.” The man sneers in my face and tries to tear off my clothes but I'll be damned if I let that happen, I poke him in the eye and sucker punch his crotch in quick succession. He doubles over, holding onto his balls with an agonized expression. I search his pockets and find his phone but there are no bars. I risk it and run out to the decks and send a message to Mallory and Kenny before I surrender to Gallon's Men. Gallon welcomes me with two punches to my eye and in his burst of fury, I suffer another beating. “I could've taken care of you!” He kicks me to the ground.
Jeremy's POV “We have a problem.” “I heard. Have you informed her family?” “I haven't.” “Good.” “Shouldn’t we share what we know?” “Don't be stupid boy, telling them would only start a war. A war the bratva cannot afford.” “What do you want me to do?” “Find out how close they are to knowing the girl's whereabouts while I use my resources to find the girl.” “What about Pup?” “Leave him, I'll deal with him myself.” Not if I get to him first. “Okay, Father.” My father ends the call and I turn to Malakai and Junnev who are looking too comfortable with their laptops —Kai— and my gamepad—Nevy— when things are going to shits and pieces. “Kai, I need a lockdown on Pup’s location.” “Already on it.” “Nev,” I call his attention. “What'd you need?” He answers with both eyes stuck on the football game. “I need you to tell me the truth.” He pauses the game and drops the gamepad, “What truth?” “You hooking up with Blondie?” He relaxes on the seat and grabs the gamepad, “No.” “W
“Get in the car and I'll answer all your questions.” He says softly and I'm stunned at the sudden change of tone. Brushing it off, I right my appearance and turn to him with narrowed eyes. “You better,” I warn as I climb into the truck and quickly tuck into the seatbelt. He climbs in and starts the engine then matches the gas pedal. “By the way, thanks for getting that off me. I had a suspicion that he put a bug on me.” “You're welcome.” He says, his voice, a low gruff and I find myself leaning into it, lost in old memories, not the bad ones but way before that, back when we were ten and life was just an innocent adventure. “She was more than an acquaintance.” He says quietly and I shake myself back to the present and look out the window. My eyes flash at the digital clock on the truck’s dashboard that reads 1:30 am How long have I been asleep? “Who?” I ask, dying of silent embarrassment when I hear the grogginess in my voice. I'm here to get my questions answered, Goddamn
JEREMY'S POV Six days ago, Josephine was kidnapped from the hospital. Two days later, Pup sent me explicit pictures of her, beaten and bruised in the worst ways. And since then, a demonic haze has taken over my control. My beast doesn't struggle for control anymore, he just takes and I gladly let him. “WHERE IS SHE?” I punch the last of Pup's men across the face, enjoying the sound of his facial muscles breaking under my fist. The two men I'd left Tonia to fight had brought back up and all of a sudden, two had turned to five. Right now, Four are lying motionless on the dirt with empty eye sockets, shattered spines, and broken necks. This one is still alive and lucky for him, the inferno raging in me has burned down to simmering rage. Now I'm just playing with him. Just toying with his face. Blood sprays across my cheeks and I ignore it, pummeling his face until my knuckles are soaked in his fluid and even then, I don't stop. “Please! I don't know who you're talking about?”
