Chapter 34

The tracts were smaller as if a wooden box was being used to travel on it. Possible to move material from one side to another. All the old movies I would catch my dad watching, resembled this.

“How far are we suppose to travel this?” I asked.

“Not sure. The tunnel I knew was a few miles. We have to get across the boarder and then safely on the other side.

“Okay.”

“Did those paper survive?” Waylon asked.

I almost forgot about them. Lifting up my shirt, I opened my breast and looked. There was water around the edges but the information was still there and so was the picture. “Yes, they did.”

“How did you know to do that?” Waylon asked.

“I’ve done this before. Went in the water to get away from things. It was a trick I found out accidentally.”

“What kind of things?” Waylon asked with a slight bitterness.

“Rogues, bears, mountain lion, I don’t know. Lots of things. I spent a good chunk of my life in the mountains. They provide the best coverage and less human interaction.”
