Chapter Thirty-Eight

I was pacing. I always pace when I’m angry. That was a close call and if that arrow had flown even one inch to either side of me it would’ve struck my daughter. The thought of anything happening to her, quite frankly pissed me off. The realization of just how close it had come to happening drove me beyond anger and into a boiling rage. I needed to put an end to the nonsense before they make another attempt, and they would make another attempt. I’m counting on it.
