“What exactly possessed you into thinking that it was a good idea to host a pre-ascension dinner party?”

My voice was hysterical. It has been two days since we had almost died, and I hadn’t heard from Jax since he left. I had asked Guin if she had heard from him and all she could tell me was that he had met some man that had some kind of information that could help him. She was just as worried as me.

“Think about it, it’s the perfect opportunity to set a trap,” Chase said defiantly.

“He’s right, Princess. Tomorrow is the ascension so tonight is their last chance to get to us before you are crowned.”
