“None of your business, but if you want to find out, then you can stick around.” I watched Xavier get into Miller’s car. “You think I’ll be allowed into that car?” I questioned Lucas.

He chortled. “None of my business remember?”

Asshole. Trying my luck, I approached the car and tapped on the windows twice. Xavier rolled down the window. He arched his brow at me. “I remember telling you to wait in the car.”

Shrugging, I opened the back door and got in. “I don’t always do as I’m told,” I responded nonchalantly. Xavier hissed in response. “So, I know you both are discussing the case, and I want to be let in on the plan.”

Miller looked at Xavier for permission to continue whatever he was saying and I almost clipped him on his head. Although skeptical about it, Xavier nodded. “I’d like to use this opportunity to let you know that you did a good job in there.”
