A Trap

Eulalia got up at 6 AM, went for a jog, and then came back to shower and make breakfast. Her previous life experience with stomach cancer taught her the importance of maintaining a healthy routine and eating on time. She remembered how she used to prepare elaborate meals for Percival, only to be met with disappointment and illness instead of his company. Reflecting on this, she couldn't help but think she had been quite foolish.

At 9 AM, she received a call from the delivery guy to pick up a package. After getting the code, she put on a jacket, sunglasses, and a mask. On weekdays, her neighborhood wasn't very busy, mostly just elderly people exercising and moms with kids. She picked up her package, took it back to her apartment, and opened it to find a bunch of small parts. After some assembly, she ended up with a device about the length of a finger. She clipped this newly assembled gadget into her hair, where it looked like an ordinary hairpin and wouldn’t attract attention.
