Getting to the root of the matter

Sofia's POV

The fear was visible in the eyes of the guards, and I wondered what kind of liquid had such a horrible smell.

“Now say everything, I'm all ears,” Eduardo replied calmly but, he still looked like a devil

“It was before the closing hour that we got a call from a number. Sir Eduardo, it was your voice. It was you who had called”

“Me?” Eduardo stopped in shock, “I called you?” He asked, and I watched as the two men nodded.

“Yes, you called to inform us that the don wanted us as soon as possible in the Underground. We asked about Enzo and you asked us to leave him because someone was going to pick him up. I thought you meant Madam Sofia, so we agreed and left. We didn't know it was a trap. We are only coming back now to find all this has happened” The guard cried out, which made Eduardo's eyes narrow.

He raised his chopper in the air and stared at the other guard threateningly. “Really?”

“Yes, Sir Eduardo. He was telling nothing but the truth. It was you who called.
