Chapter 42 : Messing with Valerie Norris

“Can I fill my stomach before telling you the whole story?” pleaded Jack as he wants to prepare himself for telling the truth. He has no idea about how Val will react after hearing that he did a background check on her behind her back.

Val eyed him for a minute before nodding her head. Jack breathed a sigh of relief and ate his food. He almost took twenty minutes to finish his meal. Val patiently waited for him.

After Jack reluctantly took his last bite Val stood up to clean the table and washed the dishes meanwhile Jack went to take shower. He stalled another thirty minutes in the bathroom.

Val said nothing but waited for him in the bed when she checked the time it’s already eleven Val sighed and closed her eyes to sleep. When Jack came out in his pajamas he saw Val is already asleep and smirked in victory.

After he laid down beside Val to sleep he switched off the lights and hugged her from behind to sleep. “Now I am all ears” said Val without opening her eyes.
