Colby's P.O.V
The light up above over our heads are making her bruises more prominent, and people around us were beginning to stare.
The booth was secluded but they were watching from afar.
"Can I get the two of you anything to drink?" The waitress asked for her face in her note book ready to write down our order.
"Can we get your finest rose', please?" I asked with a smile.
"Alright, coming right up," She said scribbling in the notebook with a fake smile and gave Chloe a side glance.
I took Chloe's hand gently in mine with a small smile, and her smile could light up the sky.
That's what hurts the most, no matter how much she hurts, the way she looks at me, and only me never changes no matter what my family has done to her.
The thought made me sick as she rubbed the back of my hand with her fingertips.
"Thank you for taking me away from that place," She said quietly.
"I don't like them eit

Once we got between the middle of the beach, Colby placed down the cooler. "Right here should be good," I passed him the blanket and moved out of the way as he threw the blanket in the air and placed it down making a perfect square onto the sand. I sat on the blanket while he started taking out the food and passing me a sandwich. "It's strawberry jam, I hope you like it," He said with a smile as he sat beside me with his own jam sandwich. I nodded while I unwrapped the saran wrap and ate slowly looking over the dark blue, green waves that crashed against the sand pulling everything back with it. It was now dark and it was getting to the part I couldn't see. I finished my sandwich and leaned over to get a drink but I fell onto his lap, which made him chuckle and picked up a can and opened it with a loud crack and passed it to me. "Thank you," I blushed while taking a sip of the fizzy liquid in the can. "You're welcome," Colby sa
Colby's P.O.V I smoothed down her hair and kissed the top of her head as she cried, I know she's scared and I don't blame her, this isn't the kind of life she deserves. I don't think she believed me when I told her I'd protect her, although I don't blame her she went through this abuse for eight-teen years. From the time she was kidnapped and even more now, I need to get her out of here, and I'm going to do it tonight. Her tears became only sniffles, and soon she became silent and snoring softly. I held her tighter to me, careful not to hurt her bruises or scratches that my father, not that stranger, had done to her. He did nothing to earn that title other then have sex with my motherand the only reason he was happy about me so I could take his place in all his crap. I refuse, I refuse to be a part of his criminal acts, I refuse to be a part of him, and I refuse to be him. My children won't be treated the
Chloe’s P.O.V I screamed for help over and over again until I lost my voice, no one showed up until the very last second. “Hey, are you alright down there?” A silhouette of a man stood against the rising sun and for a minute I thought he was a god. “Please, please help me with my fiance, he got shot please?” I doubled over Colby’s body. “Oh my god,” He rushed towards us; he had short white hair and eyeglasses. He helped me pick him up and carry him out of the alley way. “My car is right down here miss, I can drive the two of you to the hospital,” He says hurriedly. I sniffled and nodded my cheeks sticky and wet from tears, come on Chloe you have to be the strong one now. We carried him to the back seat of the man’s car and I sat with Colby with his head on my lap and I caressed his hair with tears still going down my face, my cheeks hurt from the salty tears on my cheeks, hiccuping the man sped our way to
Chloe’s P.O.V I stopped crying and sat by his bed playing with his hair and placed a kiss on his forehead gently, his chest and head wrapped in bandages and you can see where he got shot from the blood seeping through. “I’m sorry for putting you through all this,” I whispered. I truly was, why did she shoot him over something so stupid, and why not me instead? Why leave me alive if I was the one she wanted gone? I gritted my teeth. “I’ll kill them,” I whispered. “What?” I could tell she’s not believing what I’m saying. “I said I’ll kill them all,” I say louder. “I think we should just go to the police,” She says uncomfortably. “No, they took Colby away, remember,” I said, getting angrier. “Yes, but that was a misunderstanding,” She says, trying to explain. “I don’t care, I don’t want him in jail, I want them dead!” I yelled, all the nurses stared at us through the open door.
Chloe's P.O.V I pulled down the dress a bit so it covered my legs more, I looked around everyone else was wearing shorts and t-shirts, and this black dress is beginning to make me feel more and more different than everyone else. “Hey Hayley,” I shifted uncomfortably. “Yeah?” She wondered looking at other clothes through the windows. “Two things, one; why was that girl being mean to you, and two I feel like everyone is staring at me,” I questioned aggravated as someone catcalled me. “Okay, I’ll start with Fayne,” She said, sighing and I nodded. “A couple of years ago when I was seventeen, I had a crush on two people. One was a boy, and the other was Fayne, not how she is now but how she was before.” “Oh so you like boys and girls,” I stated rather than asked. “Something like that,” She grimaced a little. “What does that mean?” I continued. As we walked to the moving stairs following h
I picked off a blackberry and placed it in my mouth as the flavor exploded into a sweet, sour taste. It was delicious. “Enjoy yourself,” A beautiful voice asked, Chloe. “This place is beautiful,” I says in awe. Suddenly a child ran behind her and ran towards me and I had a strange pull to pick her up, placing her on my hip. I smiled at her and the words I never thought I would hear for a long time came out of her mouth. “Daddy, daddy come play with me,” The little girl laughed as she held herself up with her arms around my neck. Chloe laughed as she watched our so-called daughter be all over me, I looked from the little girl back at Chloe and I just realized she has a ring on her finger. Not the ring I gave her but a wedding band as well, I looked down at my own hand where there was a ring also. I put the little girl down and for the first time I had no idea what to say, suddenly there was a searing pain in my chest making me c
Chloe’s P.O.V I followed Hayley to the bathroom and she opened a closet taking out a big fluffy towel and a washcloth passing it to me. “Okay, shampoo, conditioner and body wash is all right here,” Hayley pointed to the side of the tub. “Okay, thank you I says placing the towel and the washcloth on the floor where the bath mat is sitting. “If you want to feel fancier, we have bath bombs and bath salt in that little basket here as well,” She says passing me a basket. “What’s a bath bomb, does it explode or something, because it sounds pretty dangerous,” I say half smiling. “Oh, well it sounds destructive, but it's actually very relaxing,” Hayley says with a smile, I started to laugh. “I bet it is,” I say jokingly. “Is that sarcasm I’m hearing from you?” Hayley asked slyly. “Maybe a little,” I say shrugging. “Okay well, I’ll let you take your shower just leave your clothes out in the hall an
I sighed and looked up at Chloe, she just shrugged and put addy in her high chair and gave her pasta, which I think is spaghetti. “Where did you learn to cook anyway,” I asked as she went and poured me a glass of water. “Your mother,” She replied placing the glass in front of me. “My mother, you mean we stayed in contact with them?” I asked confused. “They separated, but yes,” she answered with a small smile. “Mommy is uncle Xavier coming over to play today?” Addy asked kicking her feet back and forth in excitement. “Maybe, I’ll give them a call after dinner,” Chloe says as she got a sippy cup out of the drawer. “Uncle Xavier?” I mumbled under my breath. “Yes your baby brother,” She answered as she passed addy her sippy cup full of apple juice. My baby brother... oh shit I have forgotten all about him! I thought to myself. Chloe w
