Sierra lowered her shoulders after lifting them. "Jessie, it's obvious." As she walked away, she said, "I think you did something wrong."

Jessie breathed deeply. If he did discover she was in his room, why wouldn't he scold her? Din Cooper always constantly came up with new ways to torture her, but this time was different. He has to be up to something new.

After her talk with Sierra that morning, Jessie's phone rang the moment she walked into her room. When she checked to see whether she could pick it up, it was an unknown number. She paused before answering the phone, and when she did, she heard an old, sluggish voice speak. She recognized it and was perplexed as to why Din's granddad had contacted her. He'd expressed an interest in seeing her and asked if she could see him in his mansion right away to spend some time with him.

Jessie sniffed as soon as she set the phone down on the table. She had agreed to pay him a visit when she finished her chores. Bev wouldn't find it difficult
