Chapter 59

The ambulance's siren blared as the rescue boat sped across the water and onto the island. As they crossed the water and entered the land, the police chief had made sure his hands never left Jessie's bleeding chest. Din's hand had been held by Kimberly.

In order to help them breathe, Din and Jessie had been using oxygen.

"Put them gently in the car." The police chief had given orders. He turned to face Kimberly. "Make sure you stick by him, please. He needs his friend the most at this point. " While the car sped them both to the hospital, the chief left to deliver his report.

The doctor said to Kimberly, who was tightly gripping Din's hand, "I need to meet their guildian before I perform the operation to take out the bullet in her chest." Jessie had been hurried into the adjacent room. "I want to see that woman's husband or family. She's married, right?" He asked.
