I did it. I kissed Lucius. I kissed the King.

My heart hammered in my chest, my hands trembled and fear surged through me. But oddly enough, none of those things happened because of the quick kiss.

The reaction I had was because of his state, not the thing I did.

Honestly, I had no idea why I did it, but it felt like the right thing to do.

Just as I was about to pull away, Lucius placed his hand on the back of my neck and pulled me back in. His lips rested against mine for a brief moment, and then, he kissed me.

His kiss was anything but the pathetic peck I gave him. His lips moved against mine with actual passion. Lucius didn’t try to thrust his tongue into my mouth like I had seen other men do, no. The kiss was as demanding and possessive as it was gentle and attentive.

When our lips finally parted, he let out a shaky breath and whispered, “sorry. I didn’t mean to take advantage of you.”

“Y-you didn’t,” I stuttered, still a little taken aback by what just happened.
