I couldn’t sleep. I kept thinking if the person who hacked my computer could equally easily break into my phone, building’s CCTV, or who knows where else… Was he really watching me that moment? Or was it me being paranoid…?
I used my last sleeping pill to close my eyes for, at least, couple of hours but sleep was unable to help me recover from anxiety. I decided not to turn on my laptop for a while. I knew I might act unreasonably but it helped me feel less uneasy… for a while.
I felt strangely nervous all of the sudden. Simon brought me a freshly brew cup of tea.“Hope you like green strawberry tea. This type is my favorite,” he handed me a cup with warm smile.“Thank you,” I smiled back at him then tried taking a sip but I almost ended up choking. My throat was even more tense than rest of my body was.
I spent next days on writing. I got some new energy and a burst of creativity, and the words kept popping in my head, furthermore, I was able to put them in sentences that were making sense!I wrote three more chapters in less than two days and then gladly read comments left by my new readers. Most of them were flattering… expect for one. Someone wrote that my novel is lacking a romance… Well, maybe the reason was – so was I.
I kept the lights dimmed. I left Tom siting on the couch and left to the bathroom to look for some antiseptics and bandage. I brought a bowl of water along with the first aid kit and put them on the table. Then I sat next to Tom and took his hand to wash the wound.Tom was gazing at me intensively but didn’t say a word. I was trying to ignore him and continued treating him. I raised his palm a bit and dried it gently with a towel leaving the knuckles. I took out a sterile gauze and soaked it in saline solution.
That night was truly sleepless… for me. Tom slept like a baby, lying on my couch. I even brought him a warm blanket. My heart was pounding for at least an hour after he kissed me, after I cooled down, it only got worse – my mind activated.“Oh my God! I didn’t push him away! Why didn’t I push him away?! Far more than that… I kissed him back! He’s an amazi
Tom looked at me with a serious expression. He seemed to be annoyed but I couldn’t understand the reason.“Simon is my friend…” I started.
On my way back from Luna Café I saw Tom getting in the cab just outside our building. He was carrying a small luggage and a suit cover.“Tom!” I called and waved my hand. He looked my way with a serious expression and got in the car without a word. “Ana, what did you expect? For him to wave back or say where is he going? For real?” I thought while standing on the street with my hand still held up. Then I watched
I went out on the balcony with a glass of wine in my hand. I spent there about an hour starring at the sky like I was looking for some written in the stars answers. It took me a while before I was able to think straight and get to some reasonable conclusion. Although it wasn’t clear if it was my common sense or curiosity speaking… Nevertheless, I figured I should restrain my paranoia, and base only on facts.First, no one knew tha
I closed the door of my apartment and looked around. There were clothes and some underwear laying basically everywhere. I found one rolled up dirty sock… couldn't find the other one, and a bra, that I chose not to wear just before leaving the other day. I also could find empty snack packages under the table. It was a huge mess.I started cleaning it all in panic. I grabbed most of the clothes and threw them to the bedroom closet, kickin
