I have no idea who the hell could be at the door. It’s late, and it’s raining heavily outside. I was surprised when Emerald growled like that. That is her warning growl. Add the fact that her eyes are glowing, and whoever it is can’t be good. Kari looks at me worriedly, but I tell her it will be ok. An omega walks into the room and tells Jason that two men here wish to talk to him. I have my back to the door, so I can’t see who it is. I hear Nalena gasp as I look up at her. The sheer panic and absolute terror on Emerald’s face tell me these people are not good. Emerald doesn’t even say anything; she just vanishes. Devon and Nate bolt up and look around. I have no doubt that she is hiding, and I have a feeling that it is not in the house. I turn around, and I am surprised to see Dax and Jax. They are two of Emerald's cousins. They are also cousins with Nalena and are from that side of the family that treated Emerald like shit.
