“ How is that possible dear. Liam did not go to Milan two years ago.” Lucia says and the entire room falls silent.

Uh oh!

I look at Liam, my eyes begging for help.

“ Yes I did mum, you seem to have forgotten.” Liam finally says and I nod in response.

“ Did you? Oh my dear, I’m so sorry. I’m becoming too forgetful these days.” Lucia says with a sad smile and her husband, Richard gives her a pat on the back.

“ It’s alright, it can happen to anyone. I happen to remember because it was the day I met Liam.” I say smiling.

Good gracious. Lying to someone as sweet as Lucia was hard.

“ A day that changed both our lives.” Liam says looking directly at me.

He was such a good actor.

I feel my heart beat quicken. It felt almost real. If I didn’t know better, I would’ve thought he was being sincere.
