CHAPTER 25

Lisa had not yet fully recovered from the embarrassment of the previous night. She had left the office to tell on Axel to his parents, hoping his father will stand against the thought of him having a Personal Assistant besides her. It was a very childish thing to do, and the consequences had not been worth the risk.

She had not only been burned, she had left a very bad impression with the Chairman. All she could hope for now was Axel to come to his senses. She had watched from her friend's beauty salon, which overlooked the parking lot of Lyn Corporation, as Claire entered with Myla and Donald.

Everyone seemed to like her. The thought made Lisa bitter. There was nothing so special about her. After all, she was one of New York's leading beauties. She could turn heads in a crowd, but so far she had only managed to turn all the wrong ones. She needed a plan, and fast.
