CHAPTER 24

Axel heard her light steps echoing in unison with Donald's as they approached the office. He stilled, trying to calm his pounding heart. Finally, he will see her again. He turned when they entered the office. His heart danced and the skies seemed to pour out a blissful melody from a heavenly choir.

The eyes were the same. Intense, ocean eyes. The kind that would make him do anything just to keep looking into them. Donald had on a knowing look, then he cleared his throat. Axel pulled his eyes away from Claire's and looked at Donald in irritation.

"Sir, this is the new Personal Assistant."

Axel gave him a curt nod. "I assume he told you about the terms of employment and probation?"

Claire nodded and he narrowed his eyes at her. "Yes sir." She said quietly.

"So prove yourself useful." He turned to Donald. "Show her around the office. Get her desk in here and both of you report to me when you're done."
