Arden begrudgingly discussed the topic that Katie had requested. He would have been happier if she didn’t drag Alexander into the greenhouse when he agreed. Fortunately, Alexander’s attention was entirely on the lesson, the tension from earlier eclipsed by his academic curiosity.

“So you mean the royalty of Aelysia had contact with the god of war eons ago?” Alexander asked. “And that’s why the Kingdom of Aelysia is great with war and military strategy?”

“Just contact wouldn’t have sufficed, isn’t it? They would have had to earn his favor in order to have his gifts,” Katie replied.

On the other hand, Arden thought. Katie looks like she’s having fun for the first time since she arrived in the palace.

“Right,” Arden pointed his pen at Katie. “Aelysia back then was… small but it hosted life that was not found anywhere else in the world.
