But if it was really her, why would she do it?

“We’re sorry for suddenly interrupting. But we have urgent information from Madame Belissa,” Ben informed, looking like he indeed ran from here.

His white shirt was still rolled up, the white hairs on his arms showing. Even the grayish hair that he already had on his head looked extra bright, as if he had been very stressed by the situation. His usual warm smile wasn’t present in his face.

“Proceed,” Titus spoke, turning his attention to them.

“Lady Lana.” Ben gestured to Lana, and I turned my eyes towards her.

Still in her body-forming, long, black dress, Lana Wintour stood in front of us with the same confidence she always had around people. Despite everything, her hair and make up was still perfect.

But I could see behind her facade that she wasn’t as perfectly poised as everyone thought she was. Something in her eyes wants to break away. I could practically see it clawing at her.

But she wouldn’t be the upright and disciplined
