CHAPTER 64: Protective

I could literally hear my heart beating so loudly.

‘I-It’s okay… I swear. It’s understandable. It’s because they don’t know me.’ I reasoned through mindlink.

But Titus turned to me, looking frustrated.

“You are not to be spoken like that,” he said out loud, his eyes bright, his wolf just right at the surface.

He faced the people again. “I will not let anyone speak to you like that.”

The silence that followed after that felt chilly, and it stretched on for minutes.

Nobody dared speaking as we all could practically feel how Titus was just controlling himself not to throw a fit.

I watched as he clenched and unclenched his fists.

I wanted to reach out to him, but kept myself still. I didn’t want to make matters worse.

“This meeting is done.” After a while, he finally spoke. “You may now go.”

At first, the Councilors and other Alphas looked at each other, reluctant over moving, but they eventually did.
