Chapter 74

Claire's POV:

I was in the middle of my work when I noticed Velma, one of the pack members, looking around the room, searching for someone. I knew that someone was me. I had been avoiding her since the incident with Harrison, and I didn't want to deal with her confrontational attitude.

I quickly packed up my things and made my way towards the exit, trying to be as inconspicuous as possible. But just as I reached the door, I bumped into Nathan, the Alpha of our pack.

He had a growl on his face, and I could sense the anger emanating from him. I couldn't help but wonder what had caused him to be in such a foul mood. I had seen him around the pack, but I didn't know him very well. He was always so serious and brooding, never smiling or showing any emotion.

"Watch where you're going," he growled at me, his eyes boring into mine.
