Chapter 88

Claire POV

I woke up feeling angry, frustrated, worried, and feeling horrible. The events of the previous day were still fresh in my mind. Nathan had punished me for something I didn't do. I couldn't understand why he would do that to me, especially after I had pledged my loyalty to him.

I shivered as I hugged my knees to my chest, feeling completely alone and helpless. The cold, damp stone floor sent chills up my spine and I could feel my body trembling. I had been here for hours, maybe even a whole day, I wasn't sure anymore. Time seemed to stand still in this room.

I couldn't believe Nathan had done this to me. He seemed like a different person. His eyes were cold and his voice was hard, he didn't even seem to care that I was suffering.
