Nathan's POV:

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Claire had the audacity to question why I was angry about her sleeping in Harrison's room. Did she not understand the severity of the situation? Harrison had betrayed our pack, and Claire was trying to cover up for him. And yet, here she was, acting as if she had done nothing wrong.

I could feel my anger rising with each word that came out of her mouth. I wanted to shout at her, to make her see reason. But for some reason, I couldn't bring myself to do it. It was as if there was a voice in the back of my mind telling me to hold back.

As Claire continued to speak, I found myself becoming more and more conflicted. On one hand, I wanted to believe her, to trust that she was telling the truth. But on the other hand, I couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something.

Finally, I could take it no longer. I raised my voice, cutting her off mid-sentence. "Enough," I said sternly. "I can't believe you're trying to defend Harrison aft
