Chapter Thirteen

“What happened to you?" Audrey asked. I narrowed my eyes at her question in an attempt to act confused.

“What happened to me? What do you mean?” I asked her. Audrey eyed me, her eyes lingering on my legs.

"You're limping. Did you hurt yourself?”she asked, worry lacing her tone. I glanced down at my leg as if I was just noticing my limp. I subtly looked at Nikolai to find the motherfucker hiding his smirk as he sipped his coffee.

"Yeah. I forgot about that. It was in the middle of the night and I couldn't see so I hit my leg on the bed. No need to worry," I explained. Audrey nodded, still looking worried. I sighed as I turned away.

“Nikky, we need to get to HQ right now. I just got a message that we've got a surprise client,"

"Ah, alright. Sarah, if you feel like going out, just call me, if I'm unavailable then be patient,” he said, getting up.
