Chapter Three

I had on a black hoodie and a blue worn out jean as I stepped out of my room. I hadn't forgotten about the person I'd left in front of my door last night so I was a bit shocked when I stepped outside and didn't collide with him. I looked around to see if he had rolled away but no. I couldn't find any trace of him. I shrugged and brushed it aside. It wasn't my business anyway.

I went to the kitchen so I could do my morning chores then eat but I wasn't granted access.

“You're not allowed to enter, ma'am," Lis said, bowing lowly. I was slightly shocked but I had a hunch of what had changed their attitudes.

“What's all this about? Move and let me pass," I said, trying to force them away. I looked at Amelia who was at the far corner and I went to her. “Amelia, I'm sure you don't want me to get in trouble with father," I pleaded with her.

“I’m sorry, ma'am. These orders are from your father. We're not allowed to let you into the kitchen until further notice," she murmured.

"What? That's, no, that can't be possible,” I said, stepping back. The father I knew would never do that. He'd rather kill himself than do that. " Where's he?” I asked.

"In the dining room, ma'am,” Lis answered. I turned around and quickly made my way to the dining room. Immediately I got in, I noticed the tension in the air and it felt as if my presence only increased it.

Nikolai, my father, Alpha Richard, Ruth and Daniel were sitting around the table eating breakfast. Nikolai raised his head up to look at me and offered me a smile.

“Finally awake, Princess? When I arrived I was told you were still asleep," he said, standing up and walking over to me.

“Mmh," I hummed as my eyes connected with his passing a question. He completely ignored it and held me by the waist as he led us to the table. He sat me down beside him and dishes out my food for me.

“Eat up. Or do you want me to feed you?" He asked, smirking. I grimaced internally. Now even this was too much from Nikolai. I shook my head as I started eating.

“Now that we're all gathered, I'd like to talk about the purpose of inviting you all here," Alpha Richard said, clearing his throat. I looked up from my plate to hear what he was about to say when my eyes connected with Daniel's. He looked as if he would jump on me at any given opportunity and I rolled my eyes.

“I'll cut to the chase. Lycan King, I think you deserve better than an illegitimate child. Compared to you, she's an omega and seeing as I have no daughter, Beta Matthews and I have decided we'd give you Ruth while Daniel takes Sarah," Alpha Richard said. Nikolai continued eating without saying anything.

I grimaced at the proposal. Not them talking about Ruth and I were commodities to be sold. Not that I liked Ruth but this was just stupid. I glanced at her to see if she was as disgusted as I was but alas, Ruth was staring at Ace. If it was possible her eyes would have turned into hearts.

“I thought your son and the other girl were in love? Are they so willing to give up on their love?" Nikolai asked, nonchalantly.

“Yes, Lycan King. I am willing to leave my love if it means you'll get a worthy partner," Ruth answered immediately. My father glanced at her and I noticed a proud look in his eyes. It felt as if something pricked me and I turned my head away.

“Well if that's the case, then I don't mind staying with Sarah. I cannot have a woman who so willingly leaves the man she claims to love. Who knows? You might end up betraying me," Nikolai said, standing up. “If that is all, I'll be taking my leave now. Princess, we'll leave tomorrow.”

“But, Lycan King-" Ruth began, standing up to go after him.

"That is enough," Nikolai said, putting up his hand. Ruth kept quiet and fell to her chair. Nikolai just walked away without another word. Silence drowned us at the table.

"Sarah,” my father called, looking at me fondly. My heart thumped loudly against my chest. "I swear if you can convince the Lycan King to marry your sister instead, I'll treat you better,” he continued. I let out a low chuckle as I stood up. I should've known. How foolish of me to expect something else.

"You're a selfish man,” I said, pointing my finger at him. I turned around and walked away. Although I felt their gazes on me, I didn't turn around to look at them again.

“Open the door!" Someone yelled in my sleep. I turned around in my dream but still couldn't find anyone.

“Open up!" The same voice yelled. I still couldn't find the person. I walked around hoping I'd see who it was but there was no one. I heard a loud bang and that jolted me out of my sleep. When I saw the amount of people at my door, I finally understood why I couldn't find the person.

“What's all this about? It's fucking 1am," I yelled at them. Ruth, Daniel, the alpha, my father, and about ten guards were in my room. The guards were rummaging through my things while Ruth cried her eyes out in Daniel's arms.

“Ruth can't find her ring so we're searching to see if you took it," Alpha Richard said calmly. He pointed to my packed bags and snapped his fingers, “Search those ones too."

The guards picked my bags roughly and began rummaging through it. My anger was slowly piquing. They were destroying my hard work.

“Stop! Can't you do it with some sense? Search and see if you'll find what you're looking for!" I yelled at them. Just as I let out that statement, a guard brought out something shiny from my bag and raised it up.

“We've found it," he breathed. I gasped as I stared at it. Everyone turned to look at me with a mixture of disapproval and disgusted looks.

“I didn't do it," I said, trying to defend myself. The Alpha scoffed and waved me off.

“Take her away. To the underground court. Make sure no one sees you," He warned then left the room. I frowned as the guards grabbed me by my arms and legs. One even went as far as stuffing my mouth with one of my clothes. I kicked my legs and arms but they didn't let me go.

“You were found with the future Luna's ring, Miss Sarah DeVille. Do you have anything to say?” The Alpha asked. I opened my mouth to say something in my defense but he banged the gravel and passed his judgment.

“Death by electrocution. After that, dispose of her body in her room,” he ordered, standing up. I grimaced. I knew what they were trying to do. It was all a plan to get me out of the way. Unfortunately, they didn't know Nikolai the way I did. Even if I was dead he wouldn't marry Ruth. He'd rather give up everything.

“Don't worry, princess, you're not dying anytime soon," a familiar voice said as I felt a presence beside me.
