Chapter 32 – Start On The Right Footing

(Eve's POV)

“This will only take a minute,” Bernard said, smiling sheepishly at me while placing the food container in the microwave.

Bernard Smith lived in an all-white interior studio apartment with a calming and relaxing atmosphere, maybe because of the indoor plants that added a touch of nature to the ambiance. I found the place clean and neat for a man living on his own. Even the piles of papers on his desk near the bed were organized.

“My hungry tummy can wait,” I chuckled, lifting a small picture frame on the side table. “Your sister?” I joked, betting the woman in the picture was his mother.

The resemblance between him and the woman was hard to miss. I understood where he got his good looks. Their striking features were almost identical. I pressed my lips, suppressing a laugh as I thought of finding the female version of Channing Tatum.
