Panic

Brooklyn's POV:

I didn't know how I fell asleep that night. Amy's little hand woke me up, made it hard to get back to sleep. Even though I was drowsy, after being awaHaleed by Amy's bad sleeping posture, I turned to stare at the scenery outside the window in a daze.

I then recalled a conversation. "Amy will trouble you."

"It doesn't matter."

I vaguely heard the conversation between Devin and Aaron, and immediately lifted the quilt and staggered to the floor-to-ceiling window.

Downstairs, they were indeed standing face to face, but the voice was dazed and I couldn't hear it clearly, only to see Devin suddenly looking up at me after a while.

I swear I didn't mean to hide from him, but... I avoided him subconsciously, and accidentally kicked the table. Painfulness immediately rushed up to my nerves.

"Dad painted a portrait of you, mommy."

Last night, Amy's secret was still in me. Like a poppy, I thought I should pull it out, but I couldn't help but get addicted.
