Devin' POV:

"Desire breeds trouble."

Susan suddenly said these words, got up, picked up the kettle from the stove, poured it into two bowls, and placed it in front of us.

"Drink it, it's good for your wounds to heal." She looked at me.

I was a little overwhelmed and had to look at Aaron, who nodded at me before I picked it up and took a sip.

The bowl of soup emitted a smell comparable to that of falling into a mouse hole, both fishy and smelly.

But I had to gobble up at one gulp out of politeness.

Besides, I didn't think this old woman wanted to hurt me.

She was seemingly happy, the corners of her shriveled mouth drew an arc, and she kept nodding and saying, "Okay! Good!"

After a while, she asked, "What do you want to ask me?"

Aaron showed her the picture of the symbol on the cave floor. "Do you know what this is? Is it related to witchcraft?"

Susan put the photo under the spotlight and her eyes narrowed until almost being invisible.
