Transformation

Devin' POV:

When I met Brooklyn this time, I had the feeling of passing a lifetime.

She seemed changed a lot. The anger, caution, shyness, and cautiousness of our last meeting have disappeared. Her whole person has become cheerful and generous, like meeting an old friend who has been separated for a long time. She greeted me and talked, as usual, asked in a low voice "Devin, are you hurt?"

"Much better."

I almost added, "Thank you for your concern."

I'm not sure if she forgave me for all the horrible things I did, or if she had an accident and lost her memory, otherwise, how could she talk to me so calmly?

During dinner, I couldn't eat a single bite, and I was tempted to ask Brooklyn if something happened, but the atmosphere at the table was so pleasant that she laughed several times.

I can see that the smile was from the heart, relieved as if to completely let go of something, and was from her heart.
