Chapter 0002

"Are you crazy?" Emily said, her voice shaking. "I don't want to fight, so don’t push me."

Amelia's expression turned scornful.

"You think you can just walk away from this?" she demanded. "We're not done here."

Emily felt dizzy from the loss of blood, and her head was spinning. She had given Amelia a huge number of her blood. Before she could say anything else, Amelia pushed her to the ground, and she fell hard, the breath knocked out of her. Her back slammed hard against a wall.

She tried to get up, but Amelia was on top of her, her eyes blazing with anger.

"You're not going anywhere," she said, her voice low and menacing. “I’m going to deal with you here and now!!”

But after slapping Emily in the stomach for a number of while, she stood to her feet and stretched her hand to assist Emily to her feet.

Emily grabbed hold of her hand to rise to her feet but when she was about to stand fully, Amelia held her hands tight and pushed herself to the ground. Whimpering at impact. Emily dumbfounded stared at her. However she felt lot of pain in her belly that she couldn’t stand on her own for long.

Emily fell down as well.

Jackson was inside of the hospital toilet, his hands in the bathroom sink, when he caught sight of himself in the mirror and groaned. His hair was a mess, and there were dark circles under his eyes.

As the CEO of his company, he had no time for work. He was always running around for Amelia.

He looked exhausted, and he felt it, too. His marriage was falling apart, and he couldn't seem to find a way to fix it. Not that he cared.

He dried his hands and headed back out into the hallway, determined to try to make things right. But as he turned the corner, he froze.

In front of him, he saw Emily, her arm outstretched, holding onto Amelia and pushed her to the ground. Without thinking, he rushed toward them, his heart pounding.

"What's going on?" he asked urgently, panic rising in his voice. Before he could reach them, Amelia was screaming in pain as well as Emily who was pale in the face.

It had been that Emily had seen Jackson approaching, that was why she had acted that way.

When Amelia saw Jackson coming in, she let out a sharp gasp again, and suddenly she was rolling on the ground, clutching her stomach. Whimpering in pain. She was pretending once more.

“Jackson, I’m dying.”

Jackson's mind was racing. Both women were in pain, and he didn't know who to help first.

His wife or his best friend?

In a panic, he bent down to pick up Amelia, who looked up at him with pleading eyes.

"Please," she whispered, "help me. I came to see Emily and thank her for what she did for giving me blood but she slapped me in the face and at my belly."

Jackson's anger flared, and he whirled around to face Emily, who was still on the ground, pale and struggling to get up on her own.

"What did you do?" he demanded, his voice shaking with rage. "You...you..." But before he could finish his sentence, Emily interrupted him.

"Are you blind?" she asked, her voice shaking. "I did nothing! I didn't even touch her!" But Jackson was beyond reason. He was seeing red, and he couldn't hear anything else. All he could see was Emily, and all he could think was that she had hurt Amelia. He turned away from her, still holding onto Amelia, who pretended to be hurt.

"Get lost!" Jackson shouted at Emily, who was still struggling to stand up. “Get lost, damit!!”She tried to protest but he cut her off, tried to tell him that she hadn't done anything, but it was no use.

He was consumed by rage, and he wasn't listening to anything she said. She tried to pull herself up, but her body wouldn't cooperate. She crumpled to the ground again, and suddenly, she felt a warm wetness between her legs.

Oh no, she thought, her stomach dropping. Blood was soaking through her clothes, and she knew something was very wrong.

When Jackson turned at her, his anger turned to shock as he saw the blood pooling on the floor, and heard Emily's whimpers turn to sobs.

He wanted to approach her and help, but Amelia immediately got hold of his shirt collar and pulled him back.

“Jackson, my belly, I can’t hold my self. I don’t want to die.” She cries, Jackson didn’t know what to do. He had to help his wife but Amelia needed to see the doctor urgently.

"Call a doctor!" he shouted at a nurse. “Doctor!”

Jackson followed the doctor and Amelia as they rushed into a nearby room, and watched as they carefully laid her down on a bed.

The doctor examined her, his brow furrowed in concern, while Amelia continued to tremble and whimper.

Finally, the doctor turned to Jackson and said, "She needs a blood transfusion, and soon. I don't have time to wait for the blood bank to send someone, it might not even be compatible. I need a donor here and now. You know the one right?"

Jackson felt a chill run through him. He knew what the doctor was asking. He turned and saw a nurse standing in the doorway, her eyes wide.

"Bring Emily here, now!”
