Luke's eyes narrowed, confusion etched on his face. "What do you mean Ava is missing? wasn't she with you?"

Stanley's expression was grim.

"We were tracking William's phone signal, and Ava suggested we split up to cover more ground. I sent two men with her, but we lost contact. I've tried calling her and the men with her, but there's been no response."

Luke's face darkened. His heart started to pound in fear as his mind started to wonder where Ava might be and if she was alright.

"You mean you let her go off on her own, and now she's gone missing?"

Stanley's jaw clenched. "It wasn't like that, Luke. We had a plan, and she was with two of my best men. Something must have gone wrong."

Luke's voice rose. "Something went wrong? That's an understatement! Find her, Stanley. Find her now."

Stanley's eyes flashed with determination. "I will, Luke. I promise you that. We'll leave no stone unturned until we find Ava and the men with her."
