Chapter Forty-Seven

I really didn't want Raj to tell his family about my pregnancy yet, because I knew they...especially mum, would not believe the baby is her grandchild. I still needed to prove myself to her first.

Raj came back to the room looking angry. Judging by his demeanor, I knew mom didn't take the news well.

"Have you told them?" I asked.

"Just mum," he answered and sat down on the couch.

I went closer to him and inquired, " what did she say?"

"She doesn't believe the pregnancy is mine," he answered, not looking at me.

I knew that would be her reaction after learning about my pregnancy, so it didn't bother me much. I was becoming used to her disliking me.

"This was why I didn't want you to tell her just yet. I don't want to stay in this house anymore, let's leave please," I pleaded. I wanted to be as far away from the house as possible. No one trusted or believed me there, except for Raj. I didn't want to be surrounded with people who disliked me.
