I’m with Hunter now. We’re taking the route back home. My body is aching like I’ve been hazed by a fraternity.

On our way home, Hunter was so serious on the road. He won’t believe me when I confessed that Bernard was just a fictional character in the book I was reading before.

He didn’t know about my past. Nor he deserves to know.

Of course, prior to I became a researcher and writer in one, reading pocket novels are my pastime. It helps me to escape the cruel world.

Call me a hopeless romantic, but it’s better to read it than to see it in a movie. Sometimes, the actors tend to overact the scene. Which is considerably a cringe moment. Reasons why I hate watching romantic shows.

“Hunter,” it was the nth time that I called his name.

But the billionaire was determined to ignore me as if my existence were air.

The car stopped as the traffic light blinks red. He sighed.

“Look, the past week was bizarre for me in a good way,” I said. He looked at me. Still with no emotions at all.
