Flashback: Five years ago

“So you don’t like parties too?” David threw the question at June. They were standing on the balcony on the night of the 25th Anniversary of Wells Empire.

She giggled without taking her eyes off David. He was incredibly handsome; the most devilishly handsome man she had seen.

“Not really. I just wanted to get a good view of your house so I wandered here.”

David nodded and studied the name tag strapped around her. “You must be very famous. You are Miss New York City. Now I know why my father invited you to this party. He has a thing for famous people.”

June took bold steps toward David and stood beside him. They looked down at the pool. “This is the first time I’m meeting your dad. He sent me an invitation via email and as someone keen on meeting renowned people, I had to jump on the offer. I also met lots of iconic people tonight.”

David stole a glance at June. “So tell me, would you be Miss Universe in the future?”
