FATED, MATED & BOUND
FATED, MATED & BOUND
Author: Cassandra Lennox

1: FATED

“Mother, I told you I cannot be at the meeting tonight. I have somewhere important to be,” Dominic told his mother as he cut into his steak. He didn't understand why his mother kept pestering him to go to the meeting his father was having with the Alpha of the Moon Eclipse Pack.

“Well son, I wanted you to go since Alpha George's daughter Monica, will be there. You know you two could -”

He cut her off.

“Mother, don't go there,” he boomed, his eyes getting lost in darkness as his blue orbs got black. His mother had been trying to set him up with every Alpha's daughter in a hundred-mile radius. It was unheard of for an Alpha to not find his mate at 23. But what his mother didn't know was that Dominic had found his mate a year ago. He had been secretly dating her, a secret that he wished he didn't have to hide anymore. But you see, his mate wasn't a wolf. She was a human, and it was also unheard of for werewolves to be mated to humans. This was a first, and Dominic didn't know how his pack would take it. He feared his parents would order a hit if they found out he was mated to a measly little human.

Dominic calmed down a little and took a bite of his steak. Chewing, he made eye contact with his mother. Her dark eyes burned into him. She grabbed a rubber band and put her brown hair in a ponytail.

“You think I don't smell her on you, that slut!” His mother yelled. Dominic dropped his cutlery on his plate, stunned that his mother knew about Celeste. He swallowed his food and wiped his mouth with the napkin.

“Mother, please, don't irritate my wolf,” Dominic warned, taking a sip of red wine to calm his wolf. Onyx wasn't like any other werewolves in his pack. His bite was way worse than his howl.

“I am your mother. I know what you've been up to. Sneaking out to the human town nearby, seeing her. That human whore of yours.” His mother snarled. Gnashed and grunted as she fought to contain her wolf.

“Mother, I love you, but you are pissing my wolf off!” Dominic growled, he refused to talk about this with his mother, especially while she was being disrespectful to his mate.

“Onyx will be alright. But I won't stand here and let my son and the future Alpha of this pack throw his duties away for some human piece of tail. The Moon Goddess knows what's best -”

“SHE'S MY MATE!” Dominic blurted. His mother clutched her chest as if she was having a heart attack. “So I guess, as you said mother, Moon Goddess knows best." He downed the rest of his beverage.

“You are lying," the she-wolf howled.

“I kid you not, mother. I will mate with her after I tell her about us!"

“YOU WILL DO NO SUCH THING!" His mother's Luna tone was stifling but it did little to Dominic.

“I am an adult mother. I will do as I please," Dominic slammed his fists down on the table.

“What in the Moon Goddess' name is going on in here? Why all this ruckus?” Dominic's father, Alpha Dorian, made his entrance. He kissed his wife on the cheek. “My, my. The tension in here is so bitter,” he scrunched his nose up when the smell clawed at his throat. “What the hell is going on?" He sought answers.

“Dorian, why don't you ask our son,” Patricia pushed back her chair angrily. “You must reject her and that's final!” His mother ordered before she left the dining hall.

“Son, you found your mate?” His father questioned.

“Yes, father, but she's human,” Dominic declared. He poured himself more wine.

“Listen, human girls are fun to have sex with—you know, mess around with for a while, but they cannot be Lunas, you understand that? Plus there has never been a human Luna before. If memory serves me right, I've never heard of a wolf being mated to a human. It's unheard of.”

“What should I do, father?” Dominic was confused. Why would the Moon Goddess do this if she didn't think it would work? “Maybe this is the beginning of something new. A human and a werewolf being fated mates."

“No son. You know the stories of humans dying from our bites. That's the reason why humans cannot mate with us. They will never survive the change. So, as your mother said, you have to reject her. It's the only way to ensure our pack stays the strongest, and also I think it would be safer for her if you reject her tonight.” His Dad suggested. “No need to prolong the inevitable."

Dominic sighed. Even though his wolf was in turmoil, he considered his father's words. “OK, father. Thank you.” He got up and left.

He jumped into his red Beamer and sped off towards his mate. It was her prom night, and he had planned the most romantic evening for her. He never in a million years thought he would have to reject his mate.

He still remembered the first time he met her.

It was a year ago, and it was the hottest day of the summer. The sun was sitting, blazing hot in the sky. Dominic got a lead about a couple of rogues that ventured near his packlands. So, he went up to the campsite where some of his warriors were stationed, but what he found was their mangled-bodied and stale blood. Something killed his men and left them there to rot.

He mindlinked his dad and passed on his findings, distracted he was pounced upon by three officers. “Hands on your head and turn around slowly," one officer ordered. Dominic smirked. Leave it to the worthless cops to arrest the wrong guy.

It was the middle of June, and the sun was hotter than Satan's crotch. “You're under arrest," one officer shouted, and even though he was a suitable distance away, Dominic's werewolf smell detected he had a severe case of halitosis. Onyx almost threw up. But Dominic did what the officers told him, with his hands on his head, he knelt on his knees so that the officer could arrest him. He couldn't wait to see their facial expressions when they realize his grandfather is the chief.

Ever since Dominic was a pup, he wanted to be a police officer. His grandfather, Tomas, who was Alpha at the time became the sheriff mainly because their little town was plagued with rogue attacks and humans couldn't solve those cases. So Tomas took it upon himself to resign from his Alpha duties early and become the sheriff. But it had been almost two decades and there hadn't been a rogue sighting and attack in this region until now. Something big must be going on.

He was handcuffed and hauled off to the station.

Meanwhile, Celeste was waiting on Chief Black to sign off on her papers that showed she did 2000 hours of community service. She was genuinely a helping person, plus she thought it would look good on her college applications.

She sat in the waiting area fiddling with her phone, reading up on the many animal attacks that the online papers had been raving about. This was one of the main reasons she came to the police station on a Saturday. A huge paw print was found at one of the crime scenes. Animal forensics couldn't pinpoint which species of wolf the print belonged to. But Celeste wanted the chief to look into Chadwick Henchman's property. Celeste remembered babysitting the henchman twins some time ago, and she could have sworn she saw a wolf the size of a minivan running in the woods out there. She got spooked and told Mr. and Mrs. Henchman and they promised her they'd look into it, but they never used her as a babysitter again.

A little commotion at the door interrupted her thoughts. She looked up and saw three officers escorting a young man into the waiting area. She didn't have time to examine the officers any further because when her eyes connected to the raging storm of blue orbs, it was like her universe stopped. His face was nothing less than fine art.

Her eyes lingered on his face some more. She had never seen such a handsome man before. She could tell he was trouble. A man so good-looking in handcuffs had to be the ultimate red flag. She was about to take her eyes off him when she noticed he was staring at her with need. The mountain of muscles just stood there like he was planted on the spot. The three officers' shoes skidded on the floor as they tried to push him to where they wanted him to go.

“Damn, he must weigh a ton," she whispered under her breath. She noticed his smirk, and she wanted to roll her eyes at the smug look he now sported on his face. She assessed his body some more and could tell he worked out. No one was born with such a perfect, sculpted body.

Dominic was doing everything he could to keep his wolf Onyx from running towards their fated mate. Dominic fell into a trance as he got lost in the scent of cashmere and honey.

He may have looked relaxed, but the beast inside him was raging rampant, bashing the inside of his brain, howling for Dominic to let him out so he could run to his mate and sweep her off her feet. But what Onyx didn't realize was that their little mate was human. Dominic couldn't sense her wolf, but he didn't care. Her bright eyes were filled with adventure and empathy. He couldn't wait to get to know her.

He finally relaxed his shoulders and let the officers push him to the cells.

His short, dark brown hair had a wavy appeal and a little side part that Celeste was now admiring. The officers pulled him to the cells and Celeste almost choked when she noticed his sexy manly ass settled perfectly in his jeans. “Wow!” She praised and Dominic paused, turning his head around and flashing her his killer smile. He knew she was checking out his rear and he liked it.

Celeste again got lost in his perfect almond-shaped eyes. But something was different about the hypnotic oceans of blue this time around. She squinted her eyes to gain a better look, and the mysterious man's eyes flashed golden. She gasped, it all seemed so supernatural but again she was pulled out of her trance when a woman called her name. “Miss Bowen, the chief will see you now." She turned her head to greet the young secretary.

“Ok, thank you," she replied. She took one last look in the direction where the mysterious hottie was a moment ago, she just needed to steal one more lustful glimpse. Her heart sank in her chest for some reason when she realized he was gone.
