Chapter One Hundred & Eight

From the way Kirsten looked at me with strain, I could tell she was struggling to decide between staying loyal to the Elder rules or listening to me.

I maintained her gaze showing that I was firm in my knowledge and I believed in what I was saying.

"You do know she just found the cure to the virus right?" Sydney said and everyone else looked at me with disbelief, awe and wariness.

"Is this true?" Kirsten said, taking a step towards me.

"Sector three is lined up taking shots as we speak."

"How? How is that possible?" Another Elder asked.

"My sister…" A priestess murmured to her colleagues as her words trailed off and their demeanors changed from wariness and disbelief to that of hope and excitement.

Air swooshes out of my nose as I feel a blooming headache. "We are running out of time. I need to be inside that room. I need to see the water."

Just then, some noises could be heard, echoing some distance away. It sounded like men fighting. An Elder ordered a priestess to check
