GOTCHA

Charles's POV

"Yes my Lord" I bow to him and greet the chiefs in the castle too. I had been reclining at home when my ears in the palace came to summon me.

Most people thought i was a mere farmer in the village. What they didn't know was that i also helped Alpha Devon do some of his dirty work.

It had to remain a secret of course ss lomg as i was paid. "The Alpha summons you to thr castle immediately" the servant had delivered the alpha's message and i knew that i was needed as soon as possible with the urgency in his voice.

Did it have something to do with that lady? I wouldn't know until i got to the palace. I mounted my horse with promptness and galloped fast to the castle.

The ride to the castle was faster.

"Welcome Charles. A prisoner is on the run" the alpha says while he rubs his forehead. He is having an ache as a result of the stress. He stops rubbing it and i see his eyes.
