I was beyond exhausted. I had been running for hours in order to let my wolf out.

Out in order to have a taste of the world.

I headed towards the pack when I saw Keith and Amelia coming towards me.

“Is everything alright?” I asked.

“Well we caught three rouges” Keith said and I growled.

“Well four if we include the baby” Amelia said and I groaned.

What were rogues doing in our territory?.

We haven’t had any issue like this for a long time.

“Increase the number of people looking over the border” I said to Keith and he nodded.

“When are you going to see them?” He asked.

“I need to see Mom first before going into full beast mode” I said before heading towards the pack house.

I walked inside the house to receive greetings from people to which I gladly replied. I made my way to Mom’s suite and open the door to see her painting as always.

“Did you see her?” She asked and I immediately knew she was talking about my mate.

“Just because I go out of the pack lands doesn’t mean am going to find her.” I said while trying to concentrate on her drawing.

“You will find her sooner or later” She said while trying to give me hope that I have learn not to trust in.

“At this point, I will take it I don’t have a mate or she is dead or perhaps doesn’t even exist” I said and she hit me on the arm.

“The Moon Goddess always provide a mate for each and every being out there. You do not want to upset her. When exactly will you learn?” She scolded like she always do.

“I really don’t have the strength to argue with you over this. I have work” I announced.

“When you do find her, I will tell you I told you so” She said before I finally take my leave.

I was on my way to the basement or call it a prison for rogues because it is too big to call a basement when I ran into Valerie.

“Did Keith inform you about the rogues?” She asked and I nodded.

“Something is wrong with one of them” She said and I frowned.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked.

“I felt this intense power to suddenly bow and respect her. It was so weird” She said and I frowned.

The only reason why Val could have felt that is if she had had an encounter with my mate.

Only the Pack’s Luna can make someone from a pack feel like that.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

I immediately begin my way towards where they were being kept.

How on earth am I suppose to be mates with a rogue?

Each step I take brings me closer to my reality.

Andreas, my wolf kept urging to go faster. He has never been this agitated.

I finally got there to see two kids with a baby. The girl was sleeping with her back turned towards me. I couldn’t get a whim of her scent. I opened the door to the cell and she immediately turn to look at me.

“MATE!” We both said at the same time.

“Get her out of that filthy place” Andreas yelled.

Valerie immediately opened the door and unchain her while I stay deep rooted in my place.

“Am sorry about the way we handled you guys” Valerie said to her but she only stared at her without giving any reply.

“This is Caden, he is the Alpha of this pack” She introduced.

“I already had a mate once. This doesn’t make sense” She said and I frowned.

“You had a mate?” I asked again just to be sure that my hearing abilities was fine.

“Yes, I have had a mate before” She confirmed.

“And what happened to him? Is that too much to ask?” Valerie asked with caution.

“He had to reject me. Now can I please leave?” She asked.

“No you can’t” I said firmly.

“Why!!! Just because our wolves thinks we are mates doesn’t mean we are” She said.

“Technically yes you are” Val said and we both glare at her.

“I have had enough with being tied to one place. I want to go” She said.

“You can’t go yet not until am sure whatever this is is a mistake” I said before turning to give Val instructions.

“Take care of her and tend to her wounds. And make sure she doesn’t go anywhere” I said.

“And what is the difference between this place and the cell I was in?” She asked.

“Here is fancier” I said before taking my leave.

I scoffed as he made his way out while the girl chuckled at me or rather at Caden.

“Forgive my manners, Am Valerie” She said while going through her closet.

“Am Riley. What about the kids?” I asked hating myself for forgetting about them for a moment.

“My sister is taking care of them. You need not to worry” She said and I hummed.

“I think this should fit you perfectly. We can go buy your stuffs when you are more settled” She said.

“Did you forget the part where I told you guys am leaving here once this mistake of a thing clears up” I said and she smiled.

“Well, you are definitely going toss need some clothes before then right?” She said before handing me a crop top and jeans.

I headed towards the bathroom she directed me to and did my business there quickly.

“Am sure you will be famished. Let me get you something to eat” She said but I stop her before she could leave.

“I will rather leave this room and go with you” I said.

“But Caden said……..”

“Am not part of the pack so I can’t follow his orders” I said while cutting her off.

“The faster you lead me out of here, the better” I said and she groaned.

“I already hate this” She said making my lips twitch to a smile.
