Prologue

Sophia Moore endearing as a young girl, was an only child who grew under the shelter and protection of her tender parents.

Sophia knew nothing of the world other than the immense love she was showered. Her parents, Bernard and Cecilia Moore were well educated and working class. They met themselves during an interview for an internship and both fell in love immediately and their love story began. Those two loved each other so much, they were like the two sides of a coin, so inseparable, and wanted nothing more than a happy home and life for their daughter.

But tragedy struck...

Cecilia was diagnosed with Breast cancer. The news tore her happy home apart. Bernard loved his wife so much that the thought of losing her distressed him, But he had to be strong for her sake and their young daughters' sake. So they kept the situation hidden from Sophia to keep her from trauma.

Their finances were running low yet Cecelia wasn't responding to treatment but her husband wasn't deterred, he went to loan sharks who helped him out.

He gave his all and still was giving but fate had other intentions. Cecelia gave up few weeks to Christmas with her husband and daughter beside her.

Sophia in hysteria attempted to mangle herself with anything she saw fit but with the help of people around, she was saved.

Her father Bernard was in his reverie. He sat stupefied by the sheer reality of everything going on. His beautiful, loving wife lay on the bed quite warm with a quirky smile on her livid bony face while his daughter was in hysteria all because she was taken by surprise at the news that her mother was about to die.

Surprisingly he wasn't overreacting as he thought would. But he knew in his heart that subsequent Christmas would never be the same. It would never radiate energy as it did when his wife was alive.

He could hear people's voices echo from afar and their distinct worry-etched faces blurry to his vision yet he sat still and collected, a ticking time bomb about to be set off.

And that was how Bernard sat with his body present and mind in whirlwind shutting out the world and himself from his pain and reality.
