CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

It was a blessed beautiful new dawn that slowly transformed into a bright morning. The long-anticipated day had finally presented itself with a clear blue sky. Nevertheless, it would be a fat lie if Esther claimed that she'd any interest in seeing it despite all its splendidness; the glimmer of the beaming rays of the sunrise that streamed through her window, the calm breeze that blew inside her room, the fragrant smell of roses which Jina had gathered outside the garden before the cock crow; these, she had deftly woven into garlands that she hung in the living room and they seemed to transmit their pleasant scent to the whole mansion. All these seemed to draw Esther into much distress. It's been hours since she woke up. To say the least, she hardly winked the whole night. As everyone was too expectant to embrace the pleasures of Britton's birthday, she spent the entire night trying on the awkward outfit that Jina had bought her.
