Chapter 1

Jean stretched when only two of her friend Jaylyn were left inside her Bakery store. She had a headache because of the time spent talking to those who wanted to invest in them.

When she looked at her friend Jaylyn, she was retouching her face as you thought his make up had been reduced during their conversation even though she didn't even shake her head.

"What do you think, will they invest in us?" I asked Jaylyn.

"I hope they won't be disappointed with you and how can they invest in your face you are frowning as if you just broke up with your boyfriend. You don't even smile, try to smile especially when someone offers to invest in us."

I rolled my eyes.

"Well, why do I have to smile at them? Is it through my smile that they will base their investment? Is it a problem if I don't smile at them?"

The people they were talking to earlier with my friend slash assistant Jaylyn were Taiwanese people who wanted to invest in my Bakery slash Restaurant. They said they intend to expand it. They talked for two hours but it is still not clear what the result of their decision is if they will invest in us. The next time we talk, only then will we know their decision.

"It's our duty to be kind to people who want to invest in us, and if only you could give them a nice smile so they think we are kind and trustworthy." Jaylyn told her.

"So haven't I been nice before? Is that bad? If don't want to smile at them, shouldn't they base their investment on that?"

It dawned on her again.

"Yes, how nice of you! when we have investors then you still frown."

Jean just ignored her friend's sarcastic speech. Her friend really has a habit of slapping her after talking to people who want to invest in them, whether she is right or not, I just don't understand it because she would be talkative and noisy.

"Aren't you going to eat?" she asked Jaylyn.

"Maybe just at the office," she answered, then applied lipstick to her lips.

She is referring to their main office which is also one of his businesses because the bakery is not the only source of income for her and it is also close to her bakery where you can walk but they have a car so they don't walk either.

"Okay." answered Jean, and then she called a service crew of her bakery.

"Have me take out two ciabatta breads." she said as the crew approached.

When her crew walked away, she took the compact mirror from inside her bag and checked if her appearance was still good, especially the way his hair was tied. And when she saw that it was fine, she put the glasses back in her bag.

"Is that your food again? Only that thing, don't you get tired of the taste of that food?. it said to her.

Jean looked at her friend Jaylyn for a moment and then opened the folder on the table.

"Why is there anything wrong with ciabatta? it's delicious so try it." she said back.

"There's nothing wrong with ciabatta if it's not just your breakfast and lunch every day."

She just shrugged her shoulders at this.

"What can I do? ciabatta bread is really good."

Jaylyn was surprised by what she said.

"Every day Jean, are you serious? I know you have never moved on in your life? you still remember him all the time that's why you're acting like that right?"

"What's the point of what you're saying? why did the question go there? We're only talking about bread, aren't we? she asked here seriously.

Jaylyn was stunned.

"I-I'm just worried about you don't think bad."

Jean took a deep breath to calm herself.

"Don't worry, okay. Nothing gonna happen to me."

Jaylyn didn't speak, she knew what kind of behavior I had, even if my voice was raised, she knew I wasn't angry or sulking at her. I should prepare more because I know if she will suggest something to her again.

"Why don't you take a vacation first, it's been a long time since your last vacation when you went out of town so you can relax even for a day." Jean sighed, she guessed right, she wouldn't stop her anymore.

"Oh my gosh, we have a lot of work to do and you really thought of suggesting that thing to me?"

"You have a lot of people in the business, Jean, and I'm another one you can trust. You can leave your other businesses to Jean, you trust me right? have fun if you have to forget Jean."

He took off the sunglasses he was wearing and looked at it closely because she was starting to get bored with it. It seems that she quickly realized her annoyance.

"Yes, I won't tease you anymore. I said you're a busy person for vacation,It said giving up.

Jean took her stuff from the table and put it inside her bag and stood there first. Her friend quickly followed him.

"Are we going straight to the office?" it asked.

She stopped walking and took the key from her bag and handed it to her.

"No you go first, I will just go somewhere."

"Why, where are you going?"

"Walking around," Jean answered simply.

"I'm telling you, eh. It's a favor, Jean, I tell you to go on vacation first, right? stop that-"

She couldn't stop herself from looking at her friend.

"Will you stop me or not?"

"Okay, I'm not talking. I get it. I said I'll be at the office first."

"Oh, it's good, and when the surroundings are quiet, you've been saying the word for a while and you don't get tired?"

"Yes I'm leaving I'm just worried about you is that bad? okay I'll go ahead and follow me to the office later, Bye."

Jean breathed a sigh of relief when she walked out ahead of her and finally got into her car.

She felt peace of mind the moment she was alone and she started walking towards the beach in Manila Bay because it was very close to her bakery. While their main office is only at the Boardwalk restaurant.she will also just walk there later. It's still early so there's no reason to rush. It's surprising that their investors had a meeting with them early they talked at seven in the morning. At that time he believed that Taiwanese people were really early for such things.

It was only nine o'clock in the morning but the sun wasn't that hot yet so she could still walk with the cool breeze touching her face as she walked along Manila Bay. After a few moments of walking, she sat on the bench where she could clearly see the sea.

Few people at that time are better for her because she doesn't like noisy people either.

As she looked at the sea she felt peace of mind. After a while she stood up and started walking around. Whenever she has free time, she does not hesitate to visit that place. The place was precious to her. It said giving up.
